ROYAL SONESTA HOTEL

The Royal Sonesta Hotel design was the result of an association with Curtis and Davis Architects. It was the task of Koch and Wilson to design and detail the exterior of the building in keeping with the historic architecture of the French Quarter. Occupying more than half of the square bounded by Bourbon and Royal, Bienville and Conti, this 500 room convention hotel is made to appear as groups of smaller buildings.  K&W was also involved with the design of the lobby, ballrooms and restaurants.

In recent years the firm enlarged the restaurant into the courtyard, converted a jewelry store into a coffee shop, and designed a new 7th floor spa addition that was approved by the VCC, but  was never executed.
