ROYAL ORLEANS HOTEL

This project was  a collaboration with Curtis and Davis Architects.   Koch and Wilson was responsible for the design of the exterior and many of the public spaces. This collaboration resulted in a 350 room hotel that fits well into its Vieux Carré context. The design of the façade owes some of its character to the remnants of DePouilly’s 1830s St. Louis Hotel, the first floor arcade repeating the design of original work still standing on the Chartres Street side. The hotel has been a catalyst in the revitalization of life in the Vieux Carré; the quality of its design and execution have contributed to the quality of the neighborhood.
